Build-A-Bear terms and conditions apply to all customers.
The customer relationships of Build-A-Bear representative, Anvol Oy (company code 2760806-7, address Mannerheimintie 20, 00100 Helsinki, Finland) are governed by the general terms and conditions drawn up by Anvol Oy and Finnish laws, in particular the Contract Act, the Consumer Protection Act and the Commercial Act, as well as Regulation No. 524/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council on online dispute resolution for consumer disputes.
1. Order
1.1. The order is confirmed in the Build-A-Bear online store between the customer (hereinafter referred to as the “buyer”) and Build-A-Bear representative Anvol Oy (company code 2760806-7, address Mannerheimintie 20, 00100 Helsinki, Finland) (hereinafter referred to as the “seller”). The order confirmation corresponds to the signing of the purchase and sales contract.
1.2. The buyer places an order electronically on the website www.buildabear.fi by adding the products to the virtual shopping cart.
1.3. The order becomes effective when the buyer clicks on the link “Go to checkout”, pays for the order and accepts the terms and conditions.
1.4. The order becomes effective when the invoice amount has arrived at Anvol Oy’s account.
1.5. Before confirming the order, the buyer must check all information related to the order.
1.6. The seller sends an order confirmation to the buyer’s email. A logged-in customer can also see their own orders and invoices by logging into the online store.
2. Price
2.1. The prices of products sold in the online store are stated in euros. All prices include VAT of 25.5%.
2.2. 2 If the order value is less than €70, the delivery fee to a Posti parcel machine and pick-up point is €4.90, to a Postnord parcel machine €5.90 or home delivery €9.90.
2.3. If the order value is more than €70, delivery is free of charge.
3. Payment
3.1. The buyer must pay for the order in the online store via Bambora Checkout. Payment methods are: mobile, online banking, credit card.
3.2. The buyer’s card is charged directly at the time of purchase via the Bambora Checkout service or upon shipment or delivery.
4. Delivery
4.1. The delivery time for products is a maximum of 5 working days (usually 1–2 working days).
4.2. The delivery methods are: transport to a parcel machine, post office, home or Build-A-Bear – Stockmann workshop.
4.2.1. When the package has arrived, you will receive an SMS text message to your phone.
4.3. The buyer is responsible for any delay in delivery if the reason is an incorrect or unclear delivery address.
4.4. The buyer must immediately check the packaging and products. If the packaging or product is damaged, it must be reported to the email: asiakaspalvelu@buildabear.fi .
5. Handling of complaints
5.1. The seller must respond to the buyer’s complaint in writing within 15 days. If the seller needs more time to respond, he will inform the buyer.
5.2. The seller is responsible for the product under statutory liability for defects, depending on the product’s age, price, and intended use.
5.3. In addition to the rights based on the Consumer Act, the product also might have a manufacturer’s warranty. Warranty terms are attached to each product with a warranty.
5.4. The manufacturer is not responsible for:
a) a defect caused by the buyer himself,
b) a defect that is due to the product being used for purposes other than those for which it was intended,
c) a defect that is due to the product not being maintained in the manner advised in the instructions for use.
5.5. If the product does not meet the requirements or is defective, the buyer has the right to demand repair, exchange or return of the product.
5.6. If the buyer files a complaint, the seller will pay the return costs during the first 6 months and also during the remaining 18 months if a manufacturing defect is detected in the product.
5.7. If the product does not meet the requirements, the buyer is obliged to notify the seller within two months of the defect occurring either by email: asiakaspalvelu@buildabear.fi or by phone: +358 4086 87968.
Note! The use of the product must be stopped immediately if it is defective.
6. Returns and cancellation of orders
6.1. The buyer has the right to return the products within 14 days from the time of collection.
6.2. The products must be returned to the collection point from which they were collected.
6.2.1. If the package arrived at a parcel machine, you can use the slot code to open the door again and return the products. Instructions for this can be found on the display of the parcel machine.
6.2.2. If the package arrived at Posti, you can use the shipping ID to return the products there.
6.2.3. If the package arrived at an Build-A-Bear store, you can return the products there.
6.3. The 14-day return period does not apply to any personalized products. Personalized products include Build-A-Bear products with added scent, a beating heart, etc., as well as other personalized products or products made to order for the customer.
6.4. The return of products must be notified by email to: asiakaspalvelu@buildabear.fi. The email must include the buyer’s name, shipment number, product code(s) and reason for return.
6.5. The seller must refund the money within 14 days after the package arrives.
6.5.1. The package may also take up to 14 days to arrive back to the seller.
6.6. The seller has the right to deduct from the refunded amount:
6.6.1. Costs incurred due to damage to the packaging or the product itself.
6.6.2. Direct costs incurred due to return, which are initially €5.99 regardless of the delivery method.
6.6.3. If the buyer has chosen a delivery method other than the most affordable, the seller is not obliged to refund additional costs incurred due to the delivery method.
6.6.4. Delivery costs if the buyer returns only some of the products.

8. Other terms
8.1. Anvol Oy is not liable for any damage or delay in delivery caused to the buyer if the damage or delay in delivery of the products is due to circumstances beyond Anvol Oy‘s control and the occurrence of which could not have been foreseen and Anvol Oy could not have known about them (force majeure).
8.2. Anvol Oy resolves misunderstandings with its customers amicably and through negotiation.
8.3. However, if the parties cannot find a suitable solution, the buyer has the right to take the dispute to the Consumer Disputes Board or the district court of the buyer’s country of residence.
8.4. The seller draws the buyer’s attention to the online dispute resolution platform (ODR platform) in accordance with Regulation (EU) No 524/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council, where consumer disputes can be resolved online. The ODR platform is designed specifically for resolving cross-border disputes by enabling the consumer/buyer to find a suitable out-of-court entity to handle a specific dispute in their Member State.
